When you get lab work again, ask your doctor to check your vitamin D levels. Mine was very low and by taking large doses of vitamin D, my pain levels have
gone way down. They are just discovering how so many Americans are low in vitamin D which is effective against pain and is good for the heart. It sure has
helped me!

I sure sympathize with you about all the pain from OA and FM. These are my constant companions and they go EVERYWHERE with me. Sometimes they behave better than others. This damp weather we have had for the past month is NOT helping at all. I, on the other hand, did great, painwise, from January until April. Where is the OA at? Mine is in the lower back, hip and knee and I think the thumb. Your Signature ...

I'm so sorry....
I only have it in my hands thus far and that is
bad enough. My mom has it in her spine and is in terrible pain. I find that warm water therapy helps. God bless

Vent away to your heart's content. We'll listen. I'm
very familiar with your problem. I've had it for about ten years now. It kinda goes hand in hand with the job I had. If you mistreat your body for a long
time you wind up paying for it for the rest of your life. I'm in the payback stage now. I have OA in my hands, shoulders, neck, back, hips and legs.
One thing that helps me is hot wax dips for my hands but that's just one area and just for a little while. What really kills me is when storms come rolling in and we get the low pressure front dropping in and I just throb and ache all over. That's when I break out the pain pills. That's the only help. And that doesn't do that much, at least for me. When it's mixed with FM it's a bear. But remember, things do happen. Have you tried Lyrica? It didn't help me but it does help some.

I feel your pain. I have it bad in my hips & back goes into & around my groin area..ouch. My arms swell like hot air ballons as well as sometimes my
calves. It really stinks & I wish it wouldn't happen. It gets red & warm with the swelling. I guess I can be thankful it's just my forearms
& calves. I can't say i enjoy it, but what can I do? I believe as well as my doctor it's a touch of RSD. to go with everything else I have.

One thing that has actually helped the pain in my back and legs a lot is the implanting of a Neural Stimulator. It's a computer that is lodged inside of your back below the ribcage. It's smaller than a pack of cigarettes and doesn't stick out through the skin, there is no break in the skin anywhere. It's completely inside. It has a set of long leads that are sewn into your spinal cord and all of this is out of sight, no unsightly lumps or bumps and no bad scars. What it does is really simple. You've heard the expression "WHITE NOISE." It's a level of noise that is used to drown out other noise. It's the same principle that the Boise Headphones work on that they use in Airplane Flights. You have a lot of loud noise that you can't hear over, it's so loud that it will damage your hearing. They put on a set of headphones that emit a particular noise level that counteracts that loud noise level and blankets it out. You can't hear it and it won't mess up your hearing. All you hear is soft music. The Neural Stimulator works the same way. It outs out a frequency level of "White Noise" into your Spinal Cord that blankets out the pain signal that is coming up from your lower back and legs. The pain is still there, you just can't feel it. Instead all I get is a tiny tingling sensation like the feeling you get when your legs have gone to sleep and are getting the sensation back only not so strong. I have four different settings with many different levels I can set it to to change the way it feels and where it puts it force. It really helps me a lot. If you're interested talk to your Pain Management specialist or to a good Neurologist about it. It does a lot of good for me and the Dental tech that works with my Dentist has had it done. She was going to have to quit because her back was giving out on her and after having it done she was back as good as ever. I went from a wheel chair to riding roller coasters in less than a week. I gave my wheel chair away to someone that needed it. I use a cane just in case I have a balance problem but that's all.
