From what she told me she was turning to keep from getting to close to the dumpsters and cut to far over into another lane, didn't see the other car. Neither the other driver or Amanda was hurt but she sure was shook up. The other person just wanted to exchange insurance numbers but Amanda, not having gone through anything like that before said she wanted to call the police so she can have a written report. The other car just had a few scratches on it but Amanda's bumper and drivers side front fender were damaged quite a bit.
She called me while waiting for the police and after she had talked to them. They just told her she did the right thing in calling. She was concerned she couldn't drive the car to work (she started a new job the day before) and the policeman called and talked to her boss who was super nice and told her not to worry, get some rest, and since her parents were coming up, wait and talk to them. She told him she could get a ride to and from work but they said "rest". They did say if they needed her they would call her in.
Her Mom and Dad took the family van they are trying to sell for her to drive and brought hers home to work on. She has already had two offiers on the van..YEAH..Her Dad and Bob worked on the car for some time tonight removing the bumper and other parts and hopefully they will be able to get it put back together this weekend.
Like I said, she is okay, just shook up from something like this happening to her. Thankfully it wasn't out on the main highway.
Anyone who says you stop worrying when your kids grow up and leave home must not have grandchildren.
