Well, things here in Texas aren't so great......

I've been to Ft Hood and it is a HUGE base.
Was surprised to see it was an officer that shot and killed so many. My hubby, a retired AF officer, predicted it would be a Muslim. Sorry, but that is what he said. Don't mean to offend anyone, but he was right. God bless them all.

I heard about some of it on the news. Today they said the Ft. Hood staff are giving credit to a local cop for stopping the man from killing others. Seems strange with all the officers there that it would be a local cop; but, that is good to know for them.

Hope everyone comes together for healing after this tragedy.

What a crazy terrifying world we live in. I wonder how much of what we hear in the news about this will be the truth? I am so disillusioned.

That is where my niece has been stationed. From there she went to bagdad for 15 months, back to Fort Hood and, thank you Father, is in Germany now for 3 yrs. I am praying very hard for the family and friends of those lost and injured.

Such a SAD thing to happen.

We were just talking about how there are soooooo many crazy people in the world today.

Guesss we shouldn't be surprised, but I always am.
Who would ever think a person like this man would do something like this. There isn't any way to be prepared for everything, I guess.

Praying for all the families who lost loved ones.

My brother lives near the base. He has friends in the military there. I am like Fran. I am not encouraged that we will get any truth. IMO, this was an act of terror.

Yes, it was a civilian cop that shot him. But, to answer SuinIn, local police started showing up on the bases after 9-11. When the military is in a war, it takes SO many soldiers to go overseas that the USA bases are definitely undermanned. I live near an AF base and go there weekly. We now have civilian workers at the gates where we used to always have military. I also have a civilian doctor, etc.
Yes, I agree, it was a terrorist act. God help us.

It is so hard to believe that someone, let alone another military person, would do something like this. I am glad he is still alive so hopefully we can get to the bottom of why.........He should be given life in prison, death would be something he would want so he would be a "martar".

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of all who were involved in this terrible thing. God bless them all.
